THE UNHEEDED CRY: DO YOU HEAR ME SCHNEUR?!"

Today's posting is really not much of a commentary on anything, other than the many unanswered requests (I only have some of them here. There were more (I think 6 in total), but you'll get the point) by Berl in search of material. Any help in the cause is appreciated...

It all started with a comment at mentalblog.com by "Schneur:"

...Rabbi Michel Ber Weismandel was full of criticism of these people including Rabbi Abraham Kalmanowitz. I won't bother to tell you what Reb Michel Ber wanted to do to Rabbi Kalmanowitz in NY when he came here after the war. Yet Reb Michel Baer was a good friend of the Mahaaryatz in America. Check out the biography of the late Burshtiner rebbe rav Eichenstein(written by his son the current rebbe shlita) for some choice morsels of criticism against the vaad and their rescue activities...

Followed by:

Schneur,
Can you please write were can one get "the biography of the late Burshtiner Rebbe Rav Eichenstein"? What is the actual name of the book? Also, when you fill better (G-d willing soon), can you please post more about Rabbi Michel Ber Weismandel and his take on the Vaad Hatzoloh efforts. I have read much about him, all "artscrolled", though, and never anything along the lines of your report. Thank you.

And Schneur responded:

Berl,
The chevra of Artscroll get an anxiety attack when the word Lubavitch is mentioned. They also have a homoginized hashkafa approved by the "gedolim"...
Reb Michel Ber was not a friend of these people. Very little was ever printed on this and I depend on my sources in the CHAGAS community for this data. I will get you the name of the sefer (I have it at home too) and I will be glad to copy the pages that are shayech to our inyan...

A couple months later:

Schneur,Did you forget your promise to post about the biography of the late Burshtiner Rebbe Rav Eichenstein and Rabbi Michel Ber Weismandel's take on the Vaad Hatzoloh efforts?

And...

And once again (though I beginning to sound like a pest):
Did you forget your promise to post about the biography of the late Burshtiner Rebbe Rav Eichenstein and Rabbi Michel Ber Weismandel's take on the Vaad Hatzoloh efforts?

R. Michel Ber was giving a shiur in Bklyn, and needed a citation in shaas . A bachur went in the BM to get the correct Mesichta and gave it to the Rebbe. Upon opening it up Reb Michel Ber threw it on the floor and called it the Blutike Shaas, the bloody Shaas. It was printed in ... by the American Torah giants. Was he too a Lubavitcher ?? Upon arrival in Switzerland after the war he headed for the offices of the Aguda, he messed up the files of Reb Israel Ch. E. and tried to ... the famed Hatzolah activist Mrs. SB.
Reb Michel ber knew how much was done , what could have been done and what was not done. And most of his criticism was not aimed at Dr. Stephen Wise etc but at our heimishe gedolim in the USA.
Of course the in house writers of the Aguda namely Dr. K has published dozens of books praising themselves for their work . One look at HAPARDES and other journals published at the time shows Amerian orthodox jews vacationing in hotels, having lavish weddings etc. As Reb Michel Ber said vi hot men kekennt shloffen forget about eating etc. !!!
Today everyone the Aguda, Satmar and his own family wants to normailize reb Michel Baer into a straght hashkofist. He was not the scholar who spent time in British libraies interested in manuscripts, he was not the creator of Torah codes, he was not the activist who called for active physical resistance to the nazis in Slovakis. No no he was another Hungarian rav depending upon whom you speak to kafuf to the Torah giants or the Satmarer rebbe.
A final note these same people claim the Rayaatz did nothing in the War. What about a call to teshuva after all they do believe in G-D do they not ?
Yet Reb Michel Ber the man for whom the Holocaust was a Shivisi remained a staunch yedid of the rayaatz . A kasha nein?

Schneur,
As editor / compiler of the Berl Yeimi, I must say that it’s nice to see you here; I hope all is well!
I'm sorry if your first comment didn’t post successfully – unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find it.
I remember hearing l that the Rebbe Rayatz advised R’ Michel Ber to make a seder to learn to with his son-in-law, do you know if anything became of this?

We await the information pertaining to the “inside story” with great excitement…

In the Satmar "literature" the story goes that the Rayatz asked RMB to keep an eye on his son in law to amke sure he stays on the correct path. Das laygt zech nit afn sechel bichlal.
The rebbe and RMB shared at least one common trait , they were not party people and did things their own way.

I heard from a fellow in Nitra that R' MB's friends/followers took it as an insult.
Supposedly, the Rayatz felt that R' MB took the war too hard, in a sense, and he told R' MB that sof-kol-sof alles kumt fun Himmel; if one becomes completely shattered by events of this nature, felt es in emunah -- and then he advised R' MB to make the seder with the fuuture Rebbe.
They felt insulted, as if the Rayatz was saying that his son-in-law would be a positive influnce ion a man as great as R' MB...

Either way, do you know is the chavrusashaft ever happened?

mekushor,
even if the chavruseshaft did not happen, Reb Michel Ber was a holy soul and a brilliant gaon. The Rebbe did give his personal time to learn (weekly!) with Rav Hunter, but the latter turned out to be real kofui toiva and became an enemy.
Ooops, that was Rav Hutner, not Hunter – my mistake.

schneur,
so what's with the "unheeded cry" :)? Are you going to post that biography?

Schneur:
You bring a 'story' of R'Michel Ber, throwing a gemorah to the ground and you want us to believe it?
You yourself feel that your stories lacks substance, when you claim, that R'Michel Ber was close to to the FR although very little is known about the FR doing during the war.Btw, have you got and backup for your claim that R'Weissmandel was close to the FR?

I respect you most of time, except when you have this tendency to kiss up to some Lubavitchers, when they make up stories.I also noticed that you were not bothered one bit about the rewriting of the story, regarding FR and Moshe ben the AR .
Bkitser between the lines you are impliyng, that Mike Tress and R'Ahron did nothing. What really bothers you is that Lubavitch did nothing and you can't 'fargin' that others did.Where mistakes made?Sure! But some people tried their best, others did their best to criticize!.
Btw guys, it's your blog and you have to right to censor. If you have the courage, though you''ll allow Shneour to answer. Thanks

Sorry, I messed up the spelling.

Shneour, while up at it, I did not like your cheap shot aGainst DR K. as if he is a partisan historian.
He for example wrote at length about George Montello who saved thousands of Jews, who was not even frum!!
